When is the best time to schedule my senior portrait session?

It's best to schedule your senior portrait session during your junior or early senior year to secure your preferred date. This allows enough time for planning, selecting outfits, and ensuring you have your photos ready for yearbook submissions and graduation announcements.

How do I choose the right location for my senior portraits?

At Smithson Photography, I offer a variety of location options to suit your style and personality. Whether it's in our studio, a picturesque outdoor setting, or a unique urban location, we'll work with you to select the perfect backdrop for your portraits.

Can I include props or personal items in my senior portraits?

Absolutely! Including props or personal items can add a touch of your personality and interests to your senior portraits. Whether it's a musical instrument, sports gear, or a cherished keepsake, I encourage you to bring items that reflect who you are.

How long does a typical senior portrait session last?

A standard senior portrait session usually lasts around 1 to 2 hours. This timeframe allows for outfit changes, multiple poses, and various locations if desired. I have different package options that allow for more time and more locations.

What should I wear for my senior portrait session?

I recommend bringing a variety of outfits that represent different aspects of your personality. Classic, casual, and formal attire all work well. Solid colors and timeless styles are generally best, but feel free to express your unique style through your clothing choices. Also, anything related to extra curricular activities such as sports played or band, cheer etc. If you know what college you plan to attend then perhaps a t-shirt or sweattop with the college's name and logo.

Can I have my hair and makeup done professionally for the session?

Yes! I encourage you to get your hair and makeup done professionally before the shoot. This will enhance your confidence and ensure you look your best in front of the camera.

Can I bring family members or friends to the session?

You are more than welcome to bring a family member or friend along for support and encouragement. They can help create a relaxed atmosphere, and we can include them in some shots if you wish.

How soon will I receive my senior portrait proofs?

After the session, I will carefully select and edit the best images to create a proof gallery. You can typically expect to receive your proofs within 2-3 weeks after the shoot.
